We know that the Skipper Reference 1564 (as shown below) was usually housed in a case marked "1563" (or a case marked "1564")
And we know that the Skipper Reference 15640 (as shown below) may have been housed in a case marked "15630" (or a case marked "15640")
But have any of us seen authentic, original Skippers housed in cases marked "1163" or "11630" cases, resepctively?
I believe that most of the final execution Skippers were housed in cases marked "11063", but this makes perfect sense, as there was no such thing as a "15063".
I hope that this question makes sense . . . a reader is considering the purchase of a Skipper housed in a 1163(0) case, and is seeking to confirm authenticity. As you might expect, recasing in a far-more-common 1163 / 11630 case is a concern, as these cases were probably more plentiful than the 15xx(y) series of cases.
