Three cheers for eBay seller, Timeshoppe!! They looked in on our discussion, did some further research, and made the decision to end the aucton of the "Mappamundo" -- http://www.ebay.com/itm/360403389127
Great to see a seller do the right thing. In this instance, the seller wrote that they "will not list or offer for sale anything that is not as it should be....never have...never will. There is a pretty good reason why we are still 'perfect' after 11 years on ebay, and over 10,000 watches sold and shipped....and we would like to keep it that way".
Thanks to all involved in this situation!!
Jeff

: Hi; and I recently purchased a Heuer Mappamondo....and it wasn't
: cheap. Everything about this one looks so good - including the
: movement. I've heard so many 'stories' about these...I don't
: know what to believe.
: Are they real? When were they made [if not real]. Can anyone tell
: me beyond a doubt as to whether they are authentic or not?
