I also blame Stewart. Did I really need another diver? No. But then he goes and posts all of his beautiful dive watches around the time Johan offers a beauty for sale (the one on the left on the nato strap).

My Dad also has to take some blame for buying me the Tag 1000 series on the right for my 21st birthday in 1991 - my first real watch and the start of all of this nonsense.
