Why not create a Serial Number submission form?

I and most here will happily respond to SN requests, but a more effective solution could be a simple form. With a entry field of model, model number, serial no, name, email, and any other info.
You could make it a sticky subject, like the flickr pool link. It could have a check box for 'allow public viewing' minus the persons name.
