..to the circle of AMI lovers, Stewart. It is a great watch and you might find yourself, as it happens often to me, wearing it for very long period of time. I love everything about that watch: the proportions, the readability, the movement, the sturdiness, the blueish shade of the crystal and, why not, the heritage...Not a fan of military watches, but the AMI goes beyond that for me...Congrats!

Ps. I suspect the Master JS is referring to is on this side of the pond, but maybe him and DDV will clarify it....
: I have to fess up.. I've done a horrid thing.
: I can only apologise, it's disgraceful bahaviour.
: I have relieved David D of one of his only two remaining Heuers..
: There - I said it.
: This 'Civilian' AMI 1000 Series 510.543.
: It was custom built for David, using Sinn case - all the stampings
: removed, case was refinished with a circular brushed finish,
: overhauled original movement, keeping excellent time, NOS AMI
: dial, handset, crown, pushers and crystal and gasket....
: I have to say I'm over the moon about it - it did come on a
: legendary David D strap... but I dropped it on a Super Pro
: bracelet that suits it perfectly...
: Thanks David for the opportunity to get my mucky mitts on this
: lovely piece..
