Something like this might be fun, assuming that you would be happy with a sports watch . . . good brand, with lots of bang for the buck; fun color; mechanical . . . probably around $500.
I would have been thrilled with this as an 18 year-old. If the watch bug doesn't bite your son, then you can have a fun watch, likely different from the other in the watch box.
