Maybe the following doesn't answer your question, but it describes my considerations when I was in the same situation.

My son, who is 16, passed a examination in flying colours and was awarded this Sinn 756S that I found slightly used in Sweden.

It is not a Heuer but it meets these criteria:
- Simple graphic design (one of my sons interest)
- Robust and watertight (Valjoux 7750 engine and 200 mtr.)
- Chronograph (he must learn the pleasure of timing everything as his father does)

When he is older he will get a Heuer and he already using my Autavias now and then - but not when he is going drinking!
