Tim,
These sell for strong prices in Europe - they seem especially sought after in Germany. The blue & blue Skippers are very hard to find in good condition, especially with a mint blue bezel insert, and personally I'd be happy to pay that price for such a rare and interesting watch. In fact at $2300 I think it's a great price, but then again, I'm a massive Skipper fan. A lot aren't, and don't see the appeal, so I guess it would appear overpriced to those who fall in that camp. If it weren't for a few recent purchases I'd probably bid on this too.
Look at Pauls amazing photography of a stunning example - it's an amazing Heuer.
I guess it depends if you're into Skippers. I am in a big way.
Cheers
Stewart
