On a Related Note: Automatic Watch in Washing Machine

here's the link -- http://www.tz-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=200202

and here's the story:

As title [Washing Machines and Automatic Watches] suggests, had a mishap today...

Do any of you fine learned gentlemen (or ladies) happen to know what damage is likely to have been caused by such a combination? If it helps it was a 1200 rpm spin cycle! There appears to be no sign of water ingress, which is useful, however the watch (eta 2824-2 movement) appears to run briefly and then stop completely. It was wound when it went in (and more so in the wash I would have thought!) so I have pulled out the winder to a. stop it running and b. allow any moisture that may have gotten in to the watch, out.

Next question, anyone recommend a watch repairer in West Yorkshire? There is a chap who advertises himself as a "Tag Heuer" specialist on Manchester Road in Bradford, anyone know anything about him before I try?

    Thx in advance, Ant

Let me just say that if the watch had survived this, it could have been the theme for an amazing ad campaign!!
