hi jeff

this all starts to look a little strange, though with a little extra research i've found the entry in a 1970 dutch catalogue. the watch is an 1158S. the 1970 version uses the second type narrow hands where as this last version uses the later, 73 on, wide hands but there's no reason to supose that Heuer didn't continue to make the watch even if they did not list it in the catalogues. the catalogue entry show different dial markers but the 1158CH entry next to it shows the same markers on a champagne dial, so again a mismatch compared to the catalogue but nothing out of the ordinary there.

i say a little strange because 2 is coincidence but 3 is something else. it sugests that the seller is not telling us everything in the listing and i would guess that the original source is the same for all 3 or are there more?

i don't think that the use of genuine and correct parts to repair a damaged watch has any great effect on the value. at least it means someone has serviced it?
