I remember being impressed the first time i saw one in the flesh, it was on Francesco's wrist in London back in 2010 during the Haslinger auction.
I remember thinking " I wish Australia had an officially issued militarty Heuer, i'd get one in a flash".
Yes you're allowed to feel patriotic, enjoy your new treasure.
