Hi Stewart, if you fancy a classic looking 42mm or 45mm watch you should consider a Panerai Radiomir. I've had a couple and they are lovely watches. They're thinner than a Luminor and sit very well on the wrist. The case shape dates back to the '30's so has a lot of history.

Hi all,
: As some of you know, I've been looking for something early, clean
: & classic.. the obvious choice was a 60s Carrera, but with
: some reservations about the size, I've been on a bit of a hunt
: around. It has been interesting and eye opening to take off the
: Heuer blinkers and my journey is taking in vintage and modern.
: Maybe I'll revisit the Carrera in the future, in the meantime,
: I've found something that suits, but all will be revealed when I
: get it in my hands!
: But.. another watch has come to my attention - the Omega
: Railmaster, the current/last one made...
: I wondered if any of you had/have a 39mm or 42mm modern Railmaster
: with comparison pics with an Autavia or other Heuer, so I can
: see the size.
: Many Thanks
: Stewart
