That's very useful, I'm going to do some digging. Do they generally have issue markings on them? If so, are they commonly faked or any pitfalls to watch out for?

: breed for U.S.-issued Vietnam watches. Super robust. An
: especially austere dial on the Type I that I really love. I
: still have 6 or 7 Type Is and IIs tucked away from when I was
: into military watches. I believe they were rated from 1000m for
: diving for the Navy Seals to 30,000ft for the aviators. Loads of
: great stories connected to their history. Some early versions
: are highly collected and called the Steriles. Parts are getting
: really scarce and pristine examples more and more difficult to
: find.
