A lot of it is essentially electronic gossip.
For instance, I don't know anything about Panerai (well, a little bit), but I could probably start a blog/pinterest thing about them, just re-blogging other peoples posts.
It/they have their uses, for pulling together information & photos etc, but unfortunately this includes inaccurate info, especially when it comes to the finer details of particular watch collecting.
