I agree that it looks great. To me there is nothing wrong with messing around with the cosmetic look of a watch as long as it can be put back to spec if you or the next owner wants. I think we wear watches for our own satisfaction and maybe to get a glance from some other watch fancier once in a while. If we like it and it does no harm....why not?
