I'm sad that I never saw him race. In fact, the first Grand Prix that I watched was the first Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide in 1985. I remember seeing one guy with a Green and Gold Helmet and a Kangaroo on the side of his car, so I figured that was the guy to back....he must have been an Australian, despite the funny name. When he got pole position, well I was on to a winner.
It was following Senna that got me hooked on F1 and led me to TAG Heuer/ Heuer...and well, its been a slippery slope.
Its only as I got more into F1 that I learned about Gilles. I love everything that I have read, but its never been the same as with Senna because its all second-hand..I never saw of of his races myself...wish that I did.
