I am only certain of these two variations -- early version with the "open" snake and later version with the snake in the circle. Perhaps I have seen a third version, but I cannot locate any photos at the moment.
I believe that these Carreras were ordered by members of Shelby's sales force, in relatively small batches for specific events (for example, in connection with car shows). They were probably given to dealers, to encourage them to buy the Shelbys. This is not the more romantic racing connection, but still linked to Carroll Shelby and his cars.
Do you know of any additional versions? How about any of our readers?
