Aha...well that's an interesting topic...probably also with an endless discussion. It's all about personal taste and preference.
Two things I already want to mention...first of all a refurbished case will always remain a refurbished case. And secondly...when you decide to have it polished or refurbished...make sure you have it done by a skilled craftsman and realize there's no way back.
Give me a day or two...or maybe three to answer in detail, ofcourse with some pictures. Ofcourse there's some specific machinery and equipment involved, but then again every polisher/craftsman in refurbishing has his own techniques and uses his own preferred materials, please do not expect to see pictures of machinery ;-) And ofcourse...the most important tools are your left and right hand!
