This discussion about the possibility of having some hands made -- and the difficulty of finding the old ones -- came to mind when I saw this eBay listing . . .
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-ROLEX-6541-MILGAUSS-HANDS-ORIGINAL-NEW-OLD-STOCK-/270800851140
That's right, $23,000 for original Rolex Milgauss hands. Hey, I wonder whether you might be able to pop them onto an old Autavia?

: Great pic - thanks!!
: I have literally just replied to your thread on TZUK about hands. I
: asked a similar question a while back, but it was a dead end. I
: don't know if laser cutting is feasible, but a quick google
: shows that it is highly accurate. Of course, you would need a
: donor set to take precision measurements.
: Good luck!
