Very unexpectedly came into possession of a Lecoultre Master Mariner Deep Sea compressor this morning. My first quick google on the phone sent me to directly to this excellent Hodinkee summary, which made me think, "Holy Hodinkee!" What an excellent resource for instant answers when you need them.
Another resource said only 1500 of these were made in the late 1960s/early 70s. Do any of our members know much about this model? Are there other owners here? It's not a watch I knew much about before today. Research says it was called the Barracuda in the U.S. catalog and the Master Mariner Plongeur in the European catalog.
It's been on my wrist all day and running perfectly. Just needs some cosmetics. Will post pics when I can.
This kind of day keeps us...happy hunting,
Bill Mahoney
