I know it is not a Heuer...and I know it is just a much over-hyped old Speedy but I am not a member of any Omega forums so I thought I would post a picture here. I bought this not working out of the junk drawer of a watchmaker in the Midwestern US a few months ago. It looked like nice junk to me. It seemed to have all of its bits and pieces so I brought it to Dan, one of my favorite local authorized Omega watch makers for a bath. He had to scrounge up one of chrono mechanism levers which took a while but he found the original old part and I picked it up yesterday and it has been within about 3 seconds in the last 12 hours with all of the functions working as they should.

It is a ref # 2998-5 for those who might want to know. While certainly not a pristine virgin but I think she is a fine looking lady and I like her a lot. I had Dan leave her with all of her scratches and nicks and rounded edges. I replaced the original ref 7912 bracelet with a nice JB Champion adjustable mesh which some of the US Astronauts wore to space on their Speedys. The original bracelet is all there but has seen better days and I don't want to make it any worse.
