As a child, we thought of New Jersey as a bit "stinky" due to the many smelly chemical factories along the major highways so maybe that's where the 'canned sardines" reference comes from. Having lived in Massachusetts until age 11 (moved in 1965), perhaps "posh" refers to the Kennedy's and Hyannis Port (???) but otherwise I have no clue either, Lou. Having lived in Maryland during my teen years and college (U of Md) the statistician is also puzzling. Does John Hopkins or another large college graduate a lot of mathmeticians or statisticians, maybe??
: Some mystifying stuff on the "common sense" map, at least
: for an american
: NJ=canned sardines?
: Massachusetts is posh?
: Maryland = statisticians?
