Thanks Jeff, you learn something new every day here. I didn't realise, as I've never heavily researched the Carreras, that the Autavia came before the Carrera.

: introduced in 1963 . . . then six years to the Monaco (1969).
: Lowest serial numbers that I have recorded for the Autavias are
: 48215 (for a Ref 2446) and the one featured in this thread,
: 48655 (Ref 3646).
: We have seen one of the no-name Heuer chronographs with serial
: number 47480. So if I had to guess, I would think that the
: Autavias started at 48000. Of course, they could have started at
: 48200.
: We need more of the 48xxx serial numbers!!
