1941 - NBC broadcasts the first TV commercial sanctioned by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), a Bulova watch advertisement aired during a Dodgers-Phillies game. Bulova paid NBC, the first network to receive a commercial broadcast license, $9 to advertise its watches on the air.
