To resize the bracelet, you need to remove the individual "grains of rice". Sequence is to (a) open one link, and remove it, and then (b) open the next (remaining) link, and reattach it to the next remaining link. The warning here is that the look / tightness of the links will be affected, unless you are very skilled (and patient) with the pliers.
If it were me, I would take it to a skilled jeweler, and even then I don't think that you can expect it to look perfect after the operation. Of course, if you ever need to add back the links that were previous removed, then the bracelet will have been through two operations . . . expect some scars!!
