That was good of him, tell him that Sheffield is still a bit 'rainy'.. last time I was there half of it was flooded. ;0)
Also, he should really get some nice Heuer timers for his beautiful Porsches or just for the wall of his awesome garage. I did spot one of those 'non-real' Heuer car dash clocks in one of his cars (on his website).. you know, the same sort that was in the Singer Porsche we saw a while back.
I must admit that I share Magnus' philosophy when it comes to items that are worn and have a patina developed over the years, I guess a lot of us vintage lovers do. When he was making the strap for the door card, I was just nodding away going 'yep, completely agree, yep'!! I feel the same way about making my straps.. there is a calm quite pleasure in it, especially when using the really old leather.

: Huge thanks to Magnus for providing the photos posted below.
: So if we all were to chip in and buy Magnus a 1964 Heuer Carrera --
: as the prize for being named the coolest man on the planet -- I
: wonder whether he would wear it? I mean, shouldn't his
: chronograph be "period correct" for the 911s?
