No serial No on the case but there is some kind of valuation/warranty card from '05 (with a red wax seal!) that does have the number 24907* - maybe in your register?
I couldn't remember if i'd seen this certificate thing in the same previous ads as this particular watch but I've certainly seen it somewhere before :-)
TBH i thought he'd drag it out a bit longer than he did but he seems to have bailed out as soon as i mentioned a cousin in Manchester.
