First, I think that if half of your vintage watches have papers you are in the top few percent of collectors. Second, I think you hit on a very interesting point and I agree with you completely. The watch is more important than the papers. Some collectors think about value more than others but we are all buying the watches. I would much rather have a really nice original watch than a sub-standard watch with its original papers.
