I have just returned from dropping off the first of the Heuers that I will be selling. The (US) buyer and I agreed on FedEx as the carrier. When I got to the FedEx office, all was fine, except they would not accept my valuation. The agent said that for jewelry, watches, artwork and other "extraordinary" items, the value limit was $1,000. Since this is only about 1/4 of the actual value, I'm a bit nervous.
So I'm asking all you who have obvious sent valuable watches around the US and abroad, how do you handle this? Is there another carrier who will insure for full value? How about shipments to other countries?
Thanks for any advice for a newbie!
