As we approach the end of the year, it's time to look back and think about the best experiences of 2012. Let's have a Scan Day / Scan Week with the theme, “Best of 2012”. It feels as though it was another strong year for vintage Heuers and the community of collectors. Activity here was at an all-time high and the enthusiasm has been incredible. Yes, we sometimes discuss the "heavy" issues, but most days we are celebrating the watches, sharing stories, congratulating each other, and otherwise enjoying this amazing hobby.
So let’s have a Scan Week to mark the very best of 2012. We will start on with the first minute of Tuesday, January 1, 2013 and can have it run through Sunday, January 6th. Think back through 2012 and share some photos or photos showing:
- your favorite watch purchase of the year (or maybe the one you would like to purchase)
- a project or restoration that turned out well
- your favorite strap or bracelet of the year
- a box, display, winder or other accessory that you are enjoying
- a catalog, magazine or other printed piece that you would like to sahre
- a new blog or website that you discovered (or maybe even the best article that you read during the year)
- memorable visit to your favorite store
- a dinner or meeting with other enthusiasts
- a new discovery from Heuer’s history
- a serial number that you deciphered or enjoyed
- a new camera or accessory or your new photo set-up
We will start the very first minute of January 1, 2013 (wherever you may be) and run this event through Sunday, January 6th; we are flexible, so you can also post a little early or late, at your convenience. Use the Subject line "Best of 2012", if you are so inclined. As always, you should feel free to go off-topic, and show us any memorable event from 2012 . . . family, vacation, birthday, anniversary, car, boat, guitar, etc.
So get out your camera, open the sock drawer, search your hard-drive and share whatever made 2012 a great year for you.
