I picked up the watch today and after a bit more protest was charged $150, which is certainly better than the $250 I was originally quoted. I have since picked up a case wrench and vise and will do my own battery replacements in the future.

One odd side effect, I spent much of the 5 weeks I waited for the battery replacement looking at new automatic watches, and bought a new full sized Omega seamaster. My wonderful old Tag 1500 sure looks small now!
