Yes indeed, bit of a frankenwatch...
The case is a quartz case and the dial is automatic.
How they made the hands fit is a ? to me. Quartz hands won't fit on an automatic movement...
The movement should be quite easy to track down. Some were Heuer-branded, some were not, so no issue there.
Finding a correct backplate (should read 844/2 I believe) and correct crown (difficult to spot from the picture but it looks wrong too) will be another story....
Other possibility...just sell it and mail me ;-)
Cheers
Johan
: Please help. I purchased this watch about 12 years ago and found
: out later that the watch automatic mechanics are not the
: original. The movement only fills 3/4 of the case and the crown
: does not seal properly, and yes, I felt pretty bad about the
: purchase.
: Fast foward to now, I want to restore to the original movement if
: possible. I went to various website but could not find my model
: and the movement supposed to be. What makes more difficult is
: that the case number behind is 982.006, which per the reference
: table is Mens Quartz 42mm pewter PVD case and bezel, but I have
: an automatic dial.
: Can someone please help me discover which model this is, and how
: can i best go about restoring it.
: Thank you very much!
: The photos are not great. The back reads
: 6130 w 20
: 982.006
: 20atm acier etanche
