Re: Heuer 1000 automatic
In Response To: Re: Heuer 1000 automatic ()

toave this be fully complete...
You WILL need the correct backplate as the quartzbackplate won't fit anymore once the correct movement is installed (this movement is higher then a quartz movement or the current movement)
I'm quite sure that the corresponding typenumber to the dial should be 844/2 because of the fact that 'automatic" is written on the dial.
most 844/1 or 844/3 models didn't have this line on the dial.
PS. a 980.006 is not a pewter-case, just an oversized regular ss case...
Hope this helps!

: Yes indeed, bit of a frankenwatch...
: The case is a quartz case and the dial is automatic.
: How they made the hands fit is a ? to me. Quartz hands won't fit on
: an automatic movement...
: The movement should be quite easy to track down. Some were
: Heuer-branded, some were not, so no issue there.
: Finding a correct backplate (should read 844/2 I believe) and
: correct crown (difficult to spot from the picture but it looks
: wrong too) will be another story....
: Other possibility...just sell it and mail me ;-)
: Cheers
: Johan
