The photo comes from the archives of over 10,000,000 images at IMS. A friend of mine and fellow motorsport photographer heard me talking about this forum while we were in the media center at the St Pete GP a couple of weeks back. I told him I was interested in pictures of drivers and team owners where a nice chrono watch was visible. I was in the office the yesterday and he showed me this one. His job is to go into the archives per customer requests and scan old negatives and transparencies for reproduction. I imagine I will be getting more of these obscure and previously unseen images from him.
As for the watch I am amazed at the similarities. I posted this question not because I knew but to get an answer and your answer seems pretty good. When I initially saw the watch my brain jumped to some kind of Universal Geneve because of the bezel which looks to have a colored or chromed part but I could not find the watch I had in my mind in any photos. Your watch seems a great candidate.
