The tale starts out aboard a TAM airlines Triple 7 most of the way to Sao Paulo, Brazil last week. I was on my way down to shoot the "Streets of Sao Paulo" IndyCar race. On my wrist at the time was a very nice Heuer Quartz Pilot pictured below, now much worse for the wear of the trip. About an hour out of Guarulhos International Airport I decide to make a trip to the lav. Having done my business, so to speak, I reached down with my left (watch) hand for the flush button. I felt the watch hit a stainless steel ridge above the flush button and as the toilet was flushing I notice the bezel insert, close to perfect I might ad, swirling down the hole. Too shocked and slow to do anything I simple went back to my seat and felt bad for the duration of the flight.
Now back home in Indianapolis after a great race and a fine time in the Southern Hemisphere drinking caiparhinas, I though I would tell the tale and give you all a little laugh....or cry...whatever you may choose.
Oh Well!
