Sorry to hear about your bezel loss John. I recall reading once a lady had dropped her engagement ring flushed it down. She informed the airline and they actually found it and sent it back to her!!!
Not saying you should have tried that option though. Hope the airline served free liquor to help steady your nerves!
Best

: The tale starts out aboard a TAM airlines Triple 7 most of the way
: to Sao Paulo, Brazil last week. I was on my way down to shoot
: the "Streets of Sao Paulo" IndyCar race. On my wrist
: at the time was a very nice Heuer Quartz Pilot pictured below,
: now much worse for the wear of the trip. About an hour out of
: Guarulhos International Airport I decide to make a trip to the
: lav. Having done my business, so to speak, I reached down with
: my left (watch) hand for the flush button. I felt the watch hit
: a stainless steel ridge above the flush button and as the toilet
: was flushing I notice the bezel insert, close to perfect I might
: ad, swirling down the hole. Too shocked and slow to do anything
: I simple went back to my seat and felt bad for the duration of
: the flight.
: Now back home in Indianapolis after a great race and a fine time in
: the Southern Hemisphere drinking caiparhinas, I though I would
: tell the tale and give you all a little laugh....or
: cry...whatever you may choose.
: Oh Well!
