eBay Siffert Autavia
In Response To: Jo Siffert Autavia on eBay ()

Hi Janos,
after taking a look at the linked watch i have the following thoughts.

The serial number seems consistant with the later execution dial in place. I am a little surprised (but not shocked) to see a Cal.11 movement in place where i would have expected to see a Cal.12.
The case has been quite unevenly polished and many of the defining edges have been lost.
The dial and hands have aged and deteriated together. Its quite obvious, from the sellers detailed photo's, that there are marks and and stains on the dial and significant paint loss on the hands.

I cant easily state what the watch in the auction will sell for as the imperfections are plentiful but there is a huge demand for this rare model Autavia. Some bidders may choose to look beyond the faults and pay beyond the deemed sum value of parts just to obtain the model.

Lets see how this on turns out - Darren
