I have a beautiful old Heuer Aircraft Dash Clock with Chronograph..
Long story short.. I sent it to a specialist in Valjoux 5's.. nice guy, highly recommended. The clock needed a lot of work, and the dial had an oily residue all over it.. something I can clean up (I have experience!!)- a very delicate operation, but do-able. So, I left specific instructions not to touch the dial.
Yesterday I paid up for the work so far, not a small amount either.
I've just seen footage of the clock, that was sent to me, showing it working.. and the dial has clearly been wiped clean, and the Heuer logo is absolutely ruined.
If anyone has a spare dial, I would REALLY appreciate it, it is a Heuer Ref. 430.

In the mean time, what should I do, any help or advice? As it stands, a huge value has been wiped (literally) off the value.
