I confess, I really like the looks of the Squale dive watches from the 1960s and 70s, but know absolutely nothing about them.
I saw this one "in the metal" yesterday, and understand that it may have some interesting history, with the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms and Squale markings. Of course, it's the usual question: Rare prototype or parts bin special. I understand that the owner of this one purchased it in the 1970s, in its current configuration, which at least eliminates the scenario that it was put together recently.
With that, I will leave it to the experts to provide some commentary. My only comment is that it is a sweet looking watch . . . something special about it!! Beautiful dial, bezel and hands!!
