We like tool watches, and tool watches are often used if not even specified by the military (think of CP-1 and CP-2, Mark 11, Ocean 2000, etc.).
No, I'm not hunting military watches but in most cases the military versions are more interesting, rarer, more challenging.
Regarding the watch, you are right. The backdrop of my third image hints at the Air Force connection.
