So basically, it sucks to be me?? :-)
Shauan, I stumbled into this watch. I certainly am glad I did. Thanks for laying out my shopping list. I am so new to watch collecting that I don't even want to call it collecting. I have definitely had a pretty steep learning curve and a couple of really lucky breaks. Maybe I will have a good year and have a decent bonus come March and can get started on the list.
Here's a shot I took between burger flips on the grill (charcoal only, no gas grills for me) yesterday.
: I don't know if you plan on collecting Heuers, but you picked a
: really bad place to start. Your watch is probably the ultimate
: collectors Heuer, so the only way is down!
: I guess it can be like one of those films where you see the end of
: the plot and then the story is slowly revealed backwards. You
: can work your way backwards to a PVD Monaco, and 1158 18kt
: Carrera, then maybe a Skipperera, graduating to rare but not so
: rare "Orange boy" Autavia, then maybe a Silverstone,
: then moving on to a barrel case 1970s Carrera, a 5100 series
: watch, then some of the less fancied models like a Jarama or
: Cortina, then maybe a french made Heuer or a poor boy non-Heuer,
: ending with a couple of plastic stopwatches....
: Amazing watch, enjoy it!!!
