don't know that there are exact production records for these, but best guess is mid-late 60's/VietNam era... I know these were favored by many GIs... my serial is 17xxx, so early on, as yours is... I know the bezel changed a bit later on with the little triangles becoming 3-D or pyramid-like...

great pic as usual BTW... my paltry shot says 'Bonjour' (a nod to all those descending on LCDF :)
