I sent Hodinkee an e-mail about an hour ago and as of a couple minutes ago, the links and shortcut now work. Hurray! I also ran CCleaner to delete temp internet files and cookies as suggested by Mark (thanks). My desktop computer which uses an earlier version of IE and runs Vista (my laptop runs Windows 8) was also experiencing the same inability to access the website but that has now been corrected, too, without deleting cookies or running CCleaner so I'm gonna guess there might have been a problem with Internet Explorer and Vimeo (Hodinkee's host) which they have now resolved(?).
I'd really have been upset if I couldn't access onthedash. I start each morning checking in to see what everybody's up to, what's new and what new info someone might be introducing to the group. It's a great community here and a wonderful and enjoyable resource we get to tap into daily thanks to Jeff! By the way, congrats on your daughter's wedding this past weekend!

: Is anyone else unable to go to the Hodinkee website? Neither my own
: desktop shortcut nor the link here will open the website. I keep
: getting the message that the address is not valid, even when I
: type the address into IE manually. I first noticed this problem
: on Sunday.
