Re: Warren, see my comments above.. And..

Warren,
There are a few areas if concern to me.. and it doesn't make for good reading I'm afraid.
The box, as mentioned before, is unlike any Golden Hours box, or any box from Heuer in the 80s.
The logo on the inside of the box - ditto.
Booklets are from 84-86, not early 80s.
Round date window - Heuer never, as far as I know, never used a round window.
The Heuer shield on the dial is worryingly misaligned, it's quite a fair bit off going by the closer up photo you posted last week.

Generally speaking, the special edition pocket watches that Heuer released were of a very high quality, they really are stunning, the attention to detail is astonishing. They were like a showcase and some solid gold variants were very expensive, fully signed, cases delicately marked etc etc.
Yours, no offense, is lacking some of these merits. The numerals on the sub dials are of a modern typeface, whereas the outer hour Arabic numerals are period vintage style, it doesn't quite add up.

Like I said, I have the full Heuer brouchure, with these in. I'll check it, but if I were you, I'd brace myself for not so good news. The only other time Heuer made this style of high quality chronograph pocket watches were pre-50s, and as your Father acquired it new in the early 80s, these can be ruled out.

: The booklets were in the box under the watch holder. The back of
: the case is smooth with no markings. I do not have a movement
: photo and I am not sure how the case back comes off. There is a
: small screw in the side of the case opposite the crown. This is
: very interesting. Do you think there is a chance it is a special
: low volume golden hours model and they could not bothered to
: make a new manual for? Back in those days my dad bought most any
: watch he liked and I ended up with some Heuer, rolex and omega
: hand me downs, so I don't think there was any funny business
: there. Thanks again. Warren
