Morning / Evening all,

Despite being mostly a stealth member who follows this and other forums (fora) and makes the odd post (mostly very odd!), I would like to make some general comments and ask your opinion on a particular watch.

First, let me start with a general "thank you" to Jeff and co. for the work and general effort put into the vintage watch scene, particularly Heuer. I have been involved with vintage watches (again, particularly Heuer) for several years now and thoroughly appreciate the exchange of knowledge on this and other forums. It was with a heavy heart that I read ALL the posts over on tz.uk about the Heuer alarm watch belonging to Eddie. I was very sad to see how it developed and particularly the fact that it led to Jeff and Stewart being "banned." A very sad affair. My second love is whisky, and the same has happened on numerous occasions in the whisky forums - we could look at how the internet has changed our communication with each other at this juncture, but let's not! I also find it interesting to see / feel the difference in vibes between the forums of the different watch scenes. I personally own Omegas, Heuer, Rolex, Bulovas and others - following the vibes in the various forums is illuminating and I can honestly say that the Heuer "crowd" seem the most down-to-earth (though I am a great fan of omegaforums.net - if I am allowed to say that here!) So, thanks to all and long may it stay so!

Second, and this is only by way of general and vague thinking out loud, I don't suppose anyone is interested in swapping a beautiful and unpolished Rolex 1675 GMT from 1968 on a matching jubilee for an Autavia 1163 GMT mk 1 or 3 ? With any appropriate price adjustment, of course.

Third. I have owned many Heuer over the years but all have been from 1969 and later. I am NOT well-versed in earlier models. A friend of mine presented me with the following watch (and I am pretty sure he asked others too). The question is, of course, what is it? Is it real / f*** or molested? I would appreciate all and any opinions.

That's it from me and my drivel.
Ta
Roger
