Roger & Shaun
I agree that Roger's "sample" is the 2444 case, the numbers got mixed as Chuck's was a 2447.
The dial with that odd 12 firmly believed to be either invention or Tourneau.
IMO not Heuer. 12 just to fancy for anything that Edouard would have chosen.
Lots of reworked Moonphases / Datora's offered on ebay these days.
ALL from one seller, with multiple aliases, stating he's from Germany.
some at crazy prices. most looking suspicious. and those that don't probably require closer inspection.
Stay away from this guy and his watches.
: Thanks for the input guys. Well appreciated.
: As mentioned, I have very little knowledge re these but it was
: interesting to read your posts. I have found most of the
: elements of this watch in others of around that time. My first
: reaction was that it has been cobbled together but it does look
: rather good like it is and could potentially be genuine. My
: heart tells me it could be legit but I hope someone with much
: more experience than me comes along ....
: Not sure if there are photos of the movement but I'll find out and
: post. Ta.
