It turned out that the guy who bought the above mentioned Pennsylvania Special for 16,000 + buyer's was a stock broker who was somewhat a wrist watch fancier but simply decided that this was a beautiful watch...and wanted it. He was not a pocket watch guy but he had money and had payed way more than 16 grand for a watch (wristwatch) before. I have no idea who the under-bidder was...takes two to tango but...?
