Wow, that's nostalgic right there, believe it when I say...
In Response To: My first wrist watch ()

My very first time keeping mechanism may have been an electric/battery operated Mickey Mouse Alarm Clock that I got from my parents when I was 5 for Christmas (well at the time I thought Santa brought it for me :-)), I can almost remember it saying, "good morning, it's time to wake up," little did I know but this perhaps fueled my passion for horology and becoming a Computer Engineer two decades from then...

Thanks for sharing.

: The other day, there was a post I responded to regarding the
: apparent photoshop work done to an auction piece (the $25k
: sale). I replied with my poor man's photoshop (MS PowerPoint)
: edit on my Siffert (Mickey Mouseffert).

: The pic was probably too silly for this crowd, but, it got me
: thinking about my first wrist watch. I've always loved watches.
: When I turned 7 (I think, could have been 8), I got what I
: wanted SO BAD! It was a $12 Mickey Mouse watch, which was
: extravagant in my opinion!

: So, after I did my butchering of the pic of my Siffert, I went
: searching and guess what I found? My first watch was in a box of
: small keepsakes. I didn't save a lot of stuff, but this watch
: made the cut. It's permanently frozen at 9:13 o'clock but still
: looks kinda cool. I'll be keeping this one.
