That's a good question Nathan.
I've often wondered myself, and together with Maria from the Vintage Dept., we tried to find out more about the Spirotechnique.. (production numbers, dates, how/when/who etc etc), but there was very little to go on. All she could dig out was some catalogues with the 'non-Spiro' quartz version (.023 model).
I'm guessing that if they were supplied in anything other than a standard Blue TAG Heuer box (plastic or felt or possibly card), we would have discovered them by now, especially if they had been co-branded with Spirotechnique.
The generally accepted 'route to market' is regarded as them being supplied to specialist dive shops/suppliers, and most likely to have been in a standard blue box. Other than that, I doubt we'll ever know, unless someone finds a NOS package - and even then, that could just be a case of 'dealer grabbing any box', as we've seen before.
