I have put the question to some, but working with watch hands seems to be a bit of a dark art so I am reaching out to the experts out there ....
I have the materials and measurements of the dauphine hands. The issue I suppose is the tube posts. I dont think they are actual posts (like you would find on second hand) but more like a lip. I figure it should be possible to use a hand broach to elongate (stretch) a smaller hole.
I was thinking of cutting the hour hole to 1.40 mm instead of 1.60 mm and then broaching the hole to 1.60 mm and the minute hole to 0.90 mm instead of 1.10 mm and then broaching to 1.10 mm.
The process of broaching the hole would create a small lip (approx 0.1 mm). The original lip is approximately 0.2 mm. The total area of the hole would be approx 0.35 mm (hand is 0.25 mm thick)
Any thoughts / suggestions / ideas ?
ps: i have attached a link to an image of the minute hand made in a previous trial run ...
